Frequently asked questions

Why was my stroke marked as going the wrong way?

Arabic is written from right to left, and each stroke has a traditional direction. Start at the numbered dot and follow the arrow. Watch the animation again to see the pen order.

The feedback is too strict (or not strict enough).

You can change the strictness in Settings.

Letter names are not read aloud on my Android phone.

Khatt uses your device's text-to-speech voice. Install an Arabic voice in your phone's text-to-speech settings (for example, Speech Services by Google → Install voice data → Arabic). iPhone and iPad already include an Arabic voice.

My palm leaves marks while I write.

On Android, turn on stylus-only mode in Settings. On iPad, once you write with Apple Pencil, Khatt ignores your hand on the screen.

Does Khatt need the internet?

No. Khatt works fully offline.

Where is my progress saved?

Only on your device. There is no account, so progress does not move between devices, and deleting the app deletes your progress. See the privacy policy.
