Iqra is an app for reciting, reviewing and memorizing the Quran, published by WiseAppsAI. This policy explains what the app does and does not do with your information.
When you tap Recite, Iqra uses the microphone so that its on-device speech recognition can follow your recitation on the Mushaf page and point out possible slips. Recognition runs entirely on your iPhone. The microphone is not used at any other time.
All of this stays on your device and is removed when you delete the app. We have no access to it.
The app's recognition can be wrong. For example, it may mark a correct recitation as a slip. If that happens, you may send a report from Report an Issue. Nothing is sent unless you tap Submit. A report contains:
A report does not include your name, email, Apple ID, location, contacts or any device identifier. Reports are stored with Supabase, our hosting provider, and are used only to find and fix recognition errors. They are never sold, never shared for advertising, and never used to identify you.
To have a report deleted, email us with the approximate date and time you sent it and the Surah and Ayah it was about, and we will delete it.
To show and play Quran content, the app downloads it from:
These requests ask only for the content (for example, a Surah and Ayah) and carry no personal information. As with any web request, the provider can see your device's IP address, under its own privacy policy.
Iqra is suitable for reciters of every age and does not ask anyone, including children under 13, for personal information. Because a problem report contains a voice recording, we ask that children send reports only with a parent's permission. A parent may ask us to delete a report at any time.
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this URL with a new "last updated" date.
